
Ziyi Zhang (born February 9, 1979) is a famous and talented Chinese film actress, you’d ever seen in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Rush Hour 2, Hero, Memoirs of Geisha and House of Flying Daggers. Zhang is coined by the media as one of the Four Young Dan actresses in the Film Industry in China, along with Zhao Wei, Xu Jinglei, and Zhou Xun. With a string of Chinese and international hits to her name, she has worked with renowned directors such as Zhang Yimou, Ang Lee, Wong Kar-Wai, Chen Kaige, Tsui Hark, Lou Ye, Seijun Suzuki, Feng Xiaogang and Rob Marshall.

She amazed audiences with her powerful and great acting, martial arts and beauty stunning. But she’s not just an action actress, she had won many award in few of her acting, such as in Jasmine Women and made her film Memoirs of Geisha as her first major Hollywood role in 2005.
At the age of 11 Zhi Yi joined the Beijing Dance Academy. She ran from her school while she was at her boarding school because she didn’t like how others girls were in competing status among the teachers. In 1996, Zhi Yi entered China’s prestigious Central Academy of Drama (regarded as the top acting college in China).
