Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Andy Lau is one of Hong Kong most successful artists, achieving great success both in acting in singing. Andy starred in over 100 movies, released a few dozens of Cantonese/Mandaring music album and won multiple awards in both fields.

Andy Lau started his career in TVB, acting in TV dramas. He became a household name in Asia with his 1983 role in popular TV series, Return of the Condor Heroes.

1985 was another breakthrough year for Andy, his movie The Unwritten Law was a box-office hit as well as multiple movies award winner. It’s also in 1985 that Andy released her first singing album.

Andy’s singing career didn’t prosper as well as her acting career; Andy only become successful in singing at late 80s or early 90s. The breakthrough album was probably If You Are My Legend in 1990.

Since then Andy has won multiple singing awards, but ironically he has not much luck with movies awards.

Andy’s first major acting award came in 2000 as Best Actor in Hong Kong Film Festival with movie Running Out Of Time. He then won the prestigious Golden Horse Award for his performance in Infernal Affairs 3 in 2004.

Andy Lau also started investing movies in recent years, providing funds for young directors to make movies. Andy’s effort has won him an Asian Filmmaker of The Year award at Busan International Film Festival 2006.

Other than his splendid career, Andy Lau is also well known for being a role model as a hardworking, polite and professional artist.

world can tell how good he is.. Each characters that he played that will be enjoyed and lived in the hearts of his fans.
